Writing poems is a bore I don’t have any artistic ability To complete this chore With any civility Yet here I toil To meet the bottom With a poem only good through a foil So I’m not here again in the autumn If you can read this I need not know For ignorance is bliss And to Walker I’ll owe

"Forced to Walk"
By Josh Smith
A thing most uncivil Tore our us apart It makes us shrivel And rips out our heart
Forced to walk Miles from our home Still surrounded by the hawk Forever made to roam
No one says a word For we all know what they feel “Curse that evil bird I wish to make it squeal” None dare try To fell the mighty bird All we ask is why “Did we get what we deserved?”

In the Black Night
By Josh Smith
In the black night An uncaring dark Shines through a light Always watchful with a hark It yearns the day When you will arrive You’d have found your way Then you will thrive The dark will not be gone It will only be abated Till the next dawn For that is what we are fated We will only know the light For a scant time Before the night Makes us its mimes

Childhood
By Liz Harris
Do you ever miss who you were as a child? The days you were happier and felt free All of the fun memories you had made The memories that would last forever All the people you loved still close by you All the excitement visible in eyes
The tears you can see in most of their eyes All of them missing when they were a child When the people you loved most left you When you feel there is no hope to be free And all the pain you remember forever All of the trouble and chaos you made
And wish you could delete the past you made All of the faded colors in there eyes The tears you shed and remembered forever Every day hoping to become that child That one child who was born to be free But all of the people trying to stop you
Trying to shove away people who stop you Trying to erase the past you had made Not much time to yourself to feel free All the pain you see through each of their eyes The truth is they do miss being a child And they all cherish those moments forever
As they try to hold onto them forever People trying to help but it hurts you Telling you to move on from being a child Making you regret mistakes you had made They to can see pain you hide in your eyes The feeling and longing to become free
And as these children grow up and are free They should cherish these fun days forever When young you can see color in there eyes Hold on to those memories forever Remember those good choices you had made For you as well were once a child too
Remember the people who always love you Remember all those good friends you made Hold onto them close, don't lose them dear child

Zoo
By Liz Harris
Have you seen the animals in a Zoo? They seem so happy on the outside, right Walking around in an enclosed area These animals get used to us around For they are no longer in there true home Always watched everything they do
Being judged naturally for things they do Being held captive in this so called Zoo Will they ever get a chance to go home Or will they be contained and have no right, To be free and to maneuver around Or will they have to stay captive in that area
When you see these animals in this area Don't you wish there was something to do Instead of them walking aimlessly around The point is to heal animals in a Zoo But containing them is not helping right All animals have there true natural home
We need to return animals back home How would you like to be in a enclosed area It would not be very fun for you, right? We need to stick up and know what to do There is a true purpose for a good Zoo They need to heal the animals around
When you see the animals take a look around Do they really look like they are truly home When in enclosed areas in the Zoo Do they truly have a lot of area Is there really that much that they can do There must be something that we can do, right? We need to take a stand and do it right Let the animals free and walk around Let them do what they naturally do They need to be free, let them go home Let them go in there original area When healed, let them be released from the Zoo
All of them soon to be freed from Zoo´s Release them from there enclosed area It's time for them to go back to there home

Shadows
By Liz Harris
Shadows Streetlight shining All the children gone Walking alongside the dark roads You can see the owl's eyes shining bright What beautiful conditions to hang out in, right? Looking up at stars in the endless nights So quiet you could hear a mouse The comfort in the dark No one around Peaceful

Removed from our haven, Half hour pilgrimage to limbo Wake at the first light, wasted body and mind Friendlessness hardens my growing loneliness, making me the designated alienated husk of my former self Isolated from my core of euphoria Left with growing dysphoria Though the areas albeit scenic, it doesn’t leave me feeling completed I may live here, but it’s not home, especially if it leaves me in emotional monochrome
Sticks in a Bundle
By Billy Winslow
Sticks in a bundle are unbreakable, One tree does not make a forest, One road does not make a highway, One plant does not make a garden, One animal does not make a pack, Everything is good, But good is not better, To make everything better we must come together
Our Haven
From Time to Time
By Billy Winslow
From time to time, He gets tired, The sun must go
One hungry night The hawk stalked Her kids are happy One silent forest Wind blows noise Silence pursues The snake Earns his living By being soundless The angler fish Attracts the prey By letting his presence be known

The Moon
By Madison Burman
The moon shined bright… Hidden clouds covered the moon, and the rain fell again.
The Woman Travels Along
By Madison Burman
The woman travels along in the forest; looking for her family. She crosses a bridge, and soon gets lost. Then she hears her name; and walks toward the noise. Up ahead, she sees a group of people, and it was her family. They run to each other; and hug. But then something terrible happens; a monster has followed the women. The monster starts attacking them, then they fight back, and the monster is defeated.
Sunrise
By Madison Burman
The sunrise is pretty, it rises over the horizon, and it sets at night.
Enlightenment
By Viola Miserocchi
Two big full moons, they covered themselves with a blue cloak swaying in that gaze, abandoning myself in the abyss. But they were directed elsewhere. Only thanks to the stars around, that enlightened me to the truth, I didn't get lost in the dark.
Complete Solitude
By Viola Miserocchi
Shrouded in the darkness and calm of the night, In complete solitude with my thoughts, what surrounds me seems more beautiful, negative thoughts fade for a second. Fear has turned into courage, loneliness has turned into independence. I think about who I was and who I am now, as if I could remember the old me. Two parallel lives flowing simultaneously, to which I will be attached forever
Beautiful Rose
By Viola Miserocchi
If the most beautiful rose loves you, why worry about the whole field? And if the biggest diamond loves you, why worry about all the other rocks? Too much insecurity and greed for love. haters embedded in all minds and souls, while resigned lovers are forgotten.
Hidden Emotions
By Gilmarie Rodriguez
How are you feeling today? I asked I really don’t know, ask my therapist, she replied. Looking at her facial expressions I asked myself, what are her true feelings? Are they fake or based on other people? I know what your saying right now dear reader, Isn’t that your job to determine? Sadly, it is not that easy.
Humanity
By Gilmarie Rodriguez
Look around you What is there not to like Was the main saying back in time Time flies fast The world gets worse with no human knowledge With no remorse to save our planet, it slowly dies The sun shines over your head The animals have fled In humanity we believe
Inner Soul
By Gilmarie Rodriquez
Eyes are really important in our life Beautiful colors and shapes The window to our soul, Unforgettable, what could they possibly forget. Look into someone’s eyes, So meaningful, full of emotions.
What a Night
By Jessup Roddy
Oh what a night! In my bed, hearing the rain. The wind moaned like a train. The tornado's fury made me worry.
Distant sirens blaring out; The fast, furious moving funnel. The tornados twisted vortex tripping toward me.
It breathed in and out, Casting its dark scowl. Hail hammering the roof, As the wind blew and threw.
Bawling, crawling, hiding, tucked tight; Into a dark space. The wind blew with such fright And it shook the house with all its might. In the morning light,
I’m still tucked in tight.
Inner Demons
By John Stutts
The beast reared and revolted, Yet the hero knew he must keep them in line, A cunning the lords had let rain upon him. He called out for the ally of his foe’s enemy, With the new found help, he pushed out the dread beasts, A mental factory once more kept in line.

The Bee
By John Stutts
A tiny bumbling fool, Forced to be in air by a lazy ruler. The drive for a plants sweet nectar, Ambrosia to the great giants towering above them. Fireless smoke puts them to a slumber, When awoken their hard work gone, A labor to be redone.
Family First
By Jayden Cruz
No matter the day No matter the hour I will always be there for you In times of need. I will look out for you Through times of thick and thin. No matter the cost, Again and again.
The Sea
By Jayden Cruz
Trees were blowing Emotions were growing But just like the sea, I must keep going. I see the light Despite my past. By living everyday Like it's my last.
Worth The Time
By Jayden Cruz
Throughout the years, Love was so pure. I gave it my all So that we would fall. With years to bind, It can be said that we’ve tried. I now know, It was well worth our time
The Fox and the Cat
By Augustus Deiters
Constant fear is what I had always felt The future my Grim Reaper, and I its humble shell Looming over me, until the day the ice fell Why he was there, I could not tell
A mere fox walked along that ice Dainty, clever steps in its stride The reaper shook, telling it was nice And I thought, “it was about time”
My claws still buried into the cold My fur standing up in its control The fox nodded, and there I was told Taking a risk sometimes isn’t so bold
I unhinged my claws from the ice The fox nodded at the sight The reaper had run out of its time And the cat got to move on to its next life
The Crab
by Augustus Deiters
I came to the beach to see the crab everyday They’d dig out of the sand to see my face They’d never pinch me, that crustacean, and they They’d never let me get to close, even to this day
When I got too close to the crab, he’d never pinch The crab would push me back another inch Then go back into his trench Yet stay, listening to my every sentence
I thought that was normal of the crab That his behavior was simply the normal drag
And so I decided to cut the worries some slack Thinking, “eventually, the crab will crack”
Storms got worse, the tides were heavy I offered the crab myself as a carry Myself as support and safety For I care for the crab, and as does he
The crab refused, I thought that was absurd I told the crab this out of concern I was rude in my response, unprepared My reaction caused him to be deterred
I expressed my grief Told him “in the future, better I will be” I meant every word, changed to be better for he Not just for him, but with that, for me
The skittish crab, nonetheless, skitted away I have yet to see him to this day Sometimes I still visit to check up, say “hey” The crab never responds, instead hiding in his stay
I will wish for the crab to have stayed For I miss the crab to this day But I think this reality is okay I just hope our paths cross again someday
"Examine What Is Said, Not Who Is Speaking"
By Augustus Deiters
they don’t actually believe that, i think they simply had too much to drink
yet when I think of them, the first thing I remember the quotes, repeating on their broken record player
the apologies given, always repeated only one should have been needed
how much longer will it be until when I get up and leave
despite all said, she says what she means I cannot ignore it much longer, or forever it will be
through all the years, I've found one meaning “Examine what is said, not who is speaking”
Nature Welcomes You
By Michael Garino
If you step in the area nature only you have to do is go though the hedge After getting pass the garden and passing the dead tree You will be rewarded with a daisy right at the cliff at the edge. The birds are the animals that are not far from the sky You can at least join them grow feathers and shrink in size Don’t get carried away, you will end up like some crazy guy. Go for a swim in the lake trust me its no trap It's like swimming in your pool on a summer morning We do have slow but big turtles watch out they snap. Not only are we making a trip to a place that you can find a magic poison But other places like the rainforest, the desert, and the ocean. One man’s sunset is another man’s sunrise That's what some believe we delay the sunset after an animal's demise. The forest gets spine chilling when it becomes dark It's more fun to go in the woods when it's nighttime but be careful it's not like a walk in the park.
Response to Li Po
By Cristina Garcia
Chinese Poem by LiPo It was at a wine party-- I lay in a drowse, knowing it not. The blown flowers fell and filled my lap. When I arose, still drunken, The birds had all gone to their nests, And there remained but few of my comrades. I went along the river—alone in the moonlight.
Cristina Garcia: I was at a wine party The brown flowers fell and filled my lap. When i stood up, still drunk, The birds had flown to their nests, And there stayed but a few of my comrades. I walked along the river, Alone in the moonlight.
Response to Basho
By Cristina Garcia
Japanese: An old silent pond… A frog jumps into the pond, splash! Silence again. Autumn moonlight- a worm digs silently into the chestnut. In the twilight rain these brilliant-hued hibiscus - A lovely sunset.
Cristina Garcia: An old quiet pond… A frog leaps into the pond, Plop! Quiet again. Fall moonlight- A worm digs quietly
African Proverbs
By Cristina Garcia
“Teeth do not see poverty”.
People still manage to find something to smile about.
“Do not look where you feel, but where you slipped”.
Don't dwell on mistakes.
“No matter how hot your anger is it cannot cook yams”.
The act of getting angry resolves nothing.

Love is a Very Crazy Thing
By Alexis Bohannon
Love is a very crazy thing. Putting your trust into someone. Having a lover can be great and could also end bad because you both have so much power over each other. Always keep in mind what's best for your lover and things will always stay pure.
My Thane
By Alexis Bohannon
It was early morning The sun was rising It was cold outside which was surprising I get on the bus to go to school
And there is my boo He is very cool The daylight made his eyes shine so bright Zach is my favorite jewel
I collapse in his arms His voice inspires callow The way he looks at me Its deep and never shallow My love, my thane. Brings me joy Puts me in the best mood He is my baby boy
